"La
Tramontane", the dominant wind.
It's without a doubt one of the strongest winds in the world!
![]()
Here it sometimes
blows so strongly that it makes stones fly, and can overturn caravans on the
motorway; it even derailed one train near Port La Nouvelle.
Other catastrophes include uprooted beach umbrellas, overturned garden gnomes
and the wind is sometimes so strong that you can't even sail.
On the other hand, it dries your clothes, cleans the beaches and makes us think
that there's a low tide… But most of all, this wind lets us go windsurfing.
And that's not hot air!
